about
Erwick, an Indian filmmaker and film music composer, was born and raised in Doha, Qatar. He combines his skills in filmmaking, writing, music and design to create captivating synesthetic art.
After earning a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, he pursued his passion for music with two Diplomas in music Production and a Master's Degree in Film Music Composition, while also honing his filmmaking abilities. His diverse experiences range from working in sound studios and progressive podcasts to news sets, ultimately leading him to produce short films and explore innovative solutions for the future. To create exceptional art, one must embrace the spirit of a mad scientist, and Erwick embodies that spirit.
Erwick first picked up a DSLR in 2015, when he wanted to film himself doing a cover of the Porcupine Tree song, Mellotron Scratch. All the while he studied music and music production, his camera was by his side. He started filming his friends and teachers, making performance music videos.
Erwick had been bitten by the filmmaking bug. He started a YouTube channel, garnering hundreds of thousands of views on his YouTube channel. He began to create commercial films for clients, and familiarize himself with post-production skills like editing, color-grading and sound-design.
In 2022 Erwick attended the UNC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, pursuing his MFA in Film Music Composition. It was there that he realized that he had the unprecedented opportunity to make a film that had been gestation in his head for years. He meticulously spent all his free time learning 3D design software like Blender and Unreal Engine and with the help of his friend Dimitri Dyó, Co-Wrote and Co-Directed the sci-fi short film, Earthlings, using cutting edge technology like motion-capture and Metahumans.
